VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
Unreachable? Or Uncomfortable?

Many people are labeled by society, by churches, or even by Christians. Some are considered too broken, too different, or too far gone. But Jesus never viewed people that way.
For years, I believed I had been considered “unreachable.” Looking back, I realize that many people simply didn’t know how to engage with someone whose life looked different from their own.

Today, when people ask me how they should interact with someone who identifies as transgender, my answer is simple: love them as a person.
Before we speak, we should pray. Before we assume, we should listen. Before we try to correct someone, we should allow God to direct our hearts.

Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”

Jesus taught us that loving God and loving our neighbors are the greatest commandments. Every person we encounter was created by God and carries immeasurable value in His eyes. Our responsibility is not to judge hearts; it is to reflect Christ.

Love looks like friendship. It looks like kindness, respect, trustworthiness, and genuine care. It means protecting what people share with us instead of gossiping. It means praying faithfully and waiting for God to open doors for spiritual conversations.

Perhaps the bigger question is this: Are we avoiding certain people because they are unreachable—or because they make us uncomfortable?
Jesus consistently moved toward those others avoided. He loved people before they understood Him. He built bridges before He challenged hearts.

No one is beyond God’s reach. As long as there is breath in a person’s lungs, there is hope.
May we follow Christ’s example and love others with courage, grace, and truth.
