EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
God is in charge of our destiny. Many times we want something we’ve prayed for and feel if it does not happen it will shatter our plans for the future.
God knows the plans for our future. Jeremiah 29:11 but I think of Sarah in the Bible whose lack of fertility felt like a curse to her and it was messing with her future. Was her heartache the destiny of her life? She may have wondered what she’d have to do to “undo” her pain and get what she wanted. Do we take matters into our hands to get what we want for our lives?
Sometimes we blame others or look to outside sources to comfort our pain of not getting what we want or we act upon ourselves to make things happen in our own ways. It’s impossible for our human minds to get the answers we want instantly, so we take matters into our own hands to make them happen to satisfy our needs. God allows it, but is it His plans for our lives?
“For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.” ( Jeremiah 29:11)
If you are waiting on God for something, remember, you can not see as far ahead as God sees. Our human realm is wanting things instantly where God has His perfect and divine plan all laid out for your life. His plan is the best one. He hears our prayers and the deepest desires of our hearts and there is freedom in talking to Him for guidance. He is your shield, your refuge, and your hiding place when the silence is upon your life and you are not getting the results you want.
Remember, God led Abraham and Sara with a promise, “Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south.” (Genesis 28:15) but it happened in God’s time. A child was the deepest desire of Sarah’s heart but God already knew that before she acted in her own strength.
God knows your need for an answer right now to what you feel is purposeful for your future. Be patient, trust God and live out the most amazing story of your life through obedience to His word. God knows the deepest desires of your heart. Trust Him for it and only move on it as He guides and remains obedient to His Word.
