EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Guest writer today: Laurie Sammarco from Pembroke Pines, FL.
John 14:27 (NIV)
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
We are human and there are days when we worry about things that are out of our control. We grasp onto the what-ifs as if they can foretell what is to happen when in all actuality we are borrowing trouble when we should be resting in God and finding our peace with Him.
Sometimes worry can be like a dog on a leash who suddenly takes off and drags you with him, fighting for control, trying to rein him in before you lose your footing and fall to the ground. You’ve got to stop and with all your strength pull him back and show him who is in control.
Just like our worry, we need to stop and immediately ask God to calm our minds and give us the peace and assurance that all will be well if we trust that He is in control.
Ask God for His protection, His guidance, and His soothing peace to bring tranquility to your heart. Stop relying on the what-ifs as if they were certain possibilities and trust God for the here and now, enjoying the quiet in your mind so that you can concentrate on the moments that bring you joy and happiness while in the presence of the Lord.
Fix your ears and eyes upon Jesus, focus on the good, and lean into His comfort and He will affirm and support you with His love until your worries are gone.
