EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!” (Deuteronomy 30:19)
In every season, hidden in every choice, in every moment, it is the potential for nourishment or poison, for life-or-death.
Hard as it is to face, and oh, I hate the thought of it, sometimes, for whatever reason, we’ll step off of God’s nourishing path and plop our foot right down in the mud and mess of our own humanity. We will wish we hadn’t.
What are we to do when we find ourselves covered with evidence of our old self, our old life?
We plop our feet in the basin and ask Jesus to wash away our mess. We humble ourselves and ask him to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We rise up from our repentance in the full assurance that we are forgiven and free.
Wrap your heart around the promise that you are loved and have been made new. Life is God’s initiative, both in the physical creation of life and the way that He has opened to eternal life through Jesus. Each human life is of immense value to God. Humanity was created for life – not death. Choose life. 🩷
