VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
Intimate Surrenders

Suffering sister, where is your heart today?

Are you floundering in a sea of distress, weighed down by circumstances too heavy to bear? Have fear, disappointment, or depression whispered that your situation is hopeless? Perhaps you’ve wondered where God is in the middle of it all.

My heart suffers alongside yours because I’ve walked through seasons when I’ve felt exactly the same way.
For years, I longed for someone to understand the battles I’d endured. I wanted someone to see my pain, recognize its weight, and identify with my suffering. But sometimes, in searching for that understanding from others, I overlooked the very One who understood me completely.

Jesus.

Our Savior knows suffering intimately. He willingly carried the weight of the world’s sin to the cross, transforming what appeared to be defeat into the beautiful gift of redemption. And here’s what I’ve discovered: Our pain can either push us away from God’s presence or become the very place where He draws us closer. There are sacred places of intimacy in our suffering that belong to Jesus and us alone. No other person can fully understand every wound, every tear, or every battle we’ve faced. But God can.

He meets us in the shattered places, tenderly gathering the broken pieces of our hearts. He doesn’t ask us to carry what only He can bear. Psalm 46:1 reminds us, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (NIV).
Sister, our suffering doesn’t have to lead us into bitterness, shame, or hopelessness. God can transform our broken pieces into beautiful mosaics of His grace.

And believe me, I’m preaching this to myself, too!

We will see light again. We will sing again. Hope, healing, and restoration can rise from the ashes. This is not the end. God has the final word! May His mercy hands meet you today with a love greater than you’ve ever imagined.
