Did you ever notice when you read scripture how your personality changes? Mine does. My life of doubt and insecurities vanish and any dullness and dreary feelings I might have at that moment turn to fire with enthusiasm!
The Bible says,
“Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains an understanding for her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, and her gain than fine gold.
She is more precious than ruby’s, and all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.” (Proverbs 3:13-17)
Opening our Bible is the beginning of having a life that is better than silver and gold, more precious than rubies and diamonds, and brings the purest peace I’ve ever felt in my entire life. It’s all available to you as well. The Bible brings us the wisdom we crave. Knowledge is POWER!
Jesus is the Bread of Life and He satisfies every longing you have and completely satisfies your soul.
I feel it is truly impossible to live with a joyful personality without the scriptures being a daily part of my life. As Christians, God calls us to a higher standard and how can we meet that potential unless we are saturated daily in His word?
Reading one scripture a day is great, reading a chapter is even greater, and studying what you read will bring wisdom that you can’t contain. Out of the scriptures pours joy unspeakable, glory to God, peace in the midst of any storm you are facing, and a love of God so deep that it will heal your soul. It will bring you hope that is unshakeable and unbreakable. Try it and find out.
May we each pick up God’s Word today and hide it in our hearts so intently that we bury our past doubts and insecurities into the depths of the sea.
