I searched a great portion of my life, trying to find delight. I looked in temporary pleasures, forbidden relationships, and even reckless behavior, but nothing brought greater peace to my soul than walking in perfect unity with God.
Our souls will never be settled or filled with true joy until we find residence in the heart of the One King we are fully surrendered to. We must strive for this, desire this, and be fulfilled in Him.
We can search our entire lives for things that satisfy us, but until we center ourselves in God’s holiness and surrender “everything” fully to Him, we will never experience or know true delight.
Ask God to fill you with the desire to please Him so you won’t ever stray. You want to make God the “center” of your life and live to please Him more than anyone or anything else.
Your heart, your soul, your mind, and everything inside you will be at peace when focused on Jesus alone.
“You will keep in perfect peace, him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.” (Isaiah 26:3,4)
