EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
We all need freedom from the grasp of unforgiveness.
God’s forgiveness is part of who He is, and our character should reflect forgiveness despite what our flesh burdens us with.
We can become angry or upset at any given situation and have that right to, but if we are walking in mercy ourselves, we ought to embrace mercy for others. I find myself talking to God on this topic often. God loves others as much as He loves me, and only God can declare judgment, not me. It took many years to learn.
We all need to learn from God’s Word, leave our issues with others in God’s hands, and exercise this “practice of obedience.” God is the only judge of a person’s heart.
Please think about the many times God forgives you. Wherever you are, and whenever you ask Him with a receptive heart, He is there. He hears you. He sees you. He can help you with the process of healing your heart to forgive others as well. We need to learn to forgive ourselves to become stronger, free, and more confident as we walk forward in our faith and demonstrate examples of “mercy” within ourselves.
Matthew 6:14-15
“When you pray, make sure you forgive the fault of others so that your father in heaven will also forgive you. But if you withhold forgiveness from others, your father will withhold forgiveness from you.”
Please do not make the mistake of falling into the trap of an unforgiving heart. Break free and give it to Jesus. He makes things right. Always.
