EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Beautiful worship and writing today by WWL Sara Sahm:
“Fall into Prayer”
Maybe it’s just me, but I doubt it. On days I find myself drained, sad, anxious I’d love to say the first place I always go to is prayer, but that would be a lie. So often I reach for a bandaid and not my Bible. But this day I went to the piano and the prayer in my heart just flowed into a song. It was the most satisfying experience. I turned on my voice recorder and just sang. I was filled with so much peace as I played, just crying out to the Lord. In Matthew verse 11:28 Jesus says this: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” God proved this verse true to me that day.
As I sang to the Lord, He gave me these words:
You say “come-come to me”
“Ask and receive” All that you need
Stop gasping for life, stop dying for air
Fall into prayer
The Bible calls Jesus the Breath of Life. I especially love Acts 17:25, “And He is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everything life and breath and everything else.” NIV.
I have struggled with anxiety and sometimes it feels as though I cannot breathe. But that day I felt as if God said to me “why”? “Why do you gasp for air rather than turn to me? I am the Breath of life, Living Water, Creator, and Sustainer of all life?”
The enemy doesn’t want us to fall into prayer. It’s no wonder his world is filled with empty promises masqueraded as pretty solutions. We all want a quick fix. God doesn’t promise a quick fix or an easy road, “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory thru our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:57 NIV
