VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
Ruler of My Heart

Lord, take my words away. Take all my trying to sound okay, look okay, and convince everyone—including myself—that I have everything together. Humble my plans. Take apart the grand schemes I’ve created for myself and the pride that tells me my life must unfold according to my design. Strip away anything I’ve built for my own glory until what remains is simply the evidence of what You have done in me—in spite of me.

Lord, eradicate my worries.
Take the prayers I’ve tried to direct and control, telling You how circumstances should unfold and what answers You should provide. And crush the little god inside me who continually tries to climb onto the throne that belongs only to You.

Jesus said, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21, NIV).

So take my heart. Not simply the polished pieces I willingly offer, but the hidden places where self still wants control. Take my plans. My words. My reputation. My worries. My need to know what comes next.
And become the Ruler there.

Let my life no longer be about what I can accomplish for You, but about what You can accomplish through a heart completely surrendered to You.
Less of my glory. Less of my control. Less of me. More of You.
Lord, take Your rightful place.
Sit upon the throne of my heart.
And reign.
