VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
A Beautiful Mess
There was a season when we chose a different path for our family. Instead of traditional schooling, we embraced a life of learning through experience—traveling, exploring, and discovering the world firsthand.
And it was beautiful.
Our children saw history come alive. They met people, experienced cultures, and created memories that would shape them in ways no classroom ever could. But over time, something became clear. While those experiences were meaningful… something else was missing.
Community.
“Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.” —Proverbs 11:14 (ESV)
As our children grew, their need for connection deepened. Friendships. Accountability. Shared faith. And God, in His faithfulness, provided.
Through friends.
Through conversations.
Through voices that could speak into their lives in ways we, as parents, sometimes could not.
It was a reminder that we are not meant to do life alone.
Not parenting.
Not learning.
Not growing.
God uses people—community—to guide, to encourage, and to protect. And in that space, something beautiful happens.
Even in the mess…
There is purpose.
