A Call to Comedy
Sometimes, God calls us into places we never expected. For me, it was comedy. At first, I had questions. Who was I supposed to reach? The church? The world? A specific generation?
And the answer kept coming back the same: Bring joy to the world.
“In your presence there is fullness of joy…” —Psalm 16:11 (ESV)
As I leaned in, something unexpected began to happen—I started seeing humor in Scripture. Not in a way that diminished its truth, but in a way that revealed its depth, its humanity, its relatability.
God’s Word became my inspiration.
“It will accomplish all I want it to…” —Isaiah 55:11 (NLT)
What I didn’t realize at first was that this calling wasn’t just about making people laugh. It was about planting seeds.
Sharing truth.
Sparking curiosity.
Bringing light into unexpected places.
Comedy became a bridge—reaching people who might never step into a church, yet were open to hearing something real. And in that space, God moves.
We are all called differently. Not every path looks traditional. Not every assignment fits neatly into a category.
But when God calls…
We respond.
With faith.
With obedience.
With joy.
