VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
The Jewish Roots of Faith in God

I grew up in a Conservative Jewish home in a small town where we were the only Jewish family. My parents were intentional about preserving our identity, making long drives each Sabbath so we could attend synagogue. Still, I often wondered why we were different—why we didn’t believe in Jesus like everyone else around us.

As I grew older, I began searching for meaning, trying to fill a void I couldn’t quite explain. During a season of depression, someone shared with me that a relationship with God—through Jesus—had changed her life. She introduced me to Isaiah 53, and I was shocked to discover it spoke of a suffering Messiah. I had never heard those words before.

When my husband and I were later invited to pray and ask Jesus into our lives, everything changed. Peace filled the room, and joy flooded my soul.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” —2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

Years later, I came to understand more deeply the connection between the Jewish roots of faith and the fulfillment found in Yeshua—Jesus, the Messiah. The story of Scripture, from Abraham to the Passover, points to Him.
There is no longer separation. We are one in Him.

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” —Psalm 133:1 (NKJV)

And in that unity, we find identity, purpose, and the fullness of God’s promise.
