EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Think about the days we are living in right now and how God is speaking to us…
“Your lives are like salt among the people. But if you, like salt, become bland, how can your saltiness be restored? Flavorless salt is good-for-nothing and will be thrown out and trampled on by others.” (Matthew 5:13)
“Your lives light up the world. Let others see your light from a distance, for how can you hide a city that stands on a hilltop?” (Matthew 5:14)
The Bible tells us that salt… that has lost its flavor, is foolish. That means good for nothing!
None of us wish to look at ourselves as “good-for-nothing”, do we? I have heard people being called “good-for-nothing fools”, and it’s not anything that leaves a good impression on us about any person! It is absolutely not desirable to be called a fool.
So, if salt that has lost its flavor is foolish then salt that has kept its flavor is wise?
In God’s word, after speaking about salt, Jesus speaks about lighting a lamp.
“And then who would light a lamp and then hide it in an obscure place? Instead, it’s placed where everyone in the house can benefit from its light. So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others, so that the commendable things you do will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:15-16)
I wish to encourage you with one of my favorite scripture verses yet again, I love to use this scripture when applicable… James 1:5. Ask God for wisdom and He promises to deliver to you! We all need wisdom. We don’t want to be foolish in any way. We NEED God and His direction. Ask for His wisdom.
The “salt” of wisdom will make our lights shine even brighter. God promises.
In a world of confused situations, let us each bring revelation into the hearts of men through being that “light” as Jesus has called us to be. Women, you are the “salt” of the earth, a “beautiful light” in the darkness and you need to speak “wisdom” in these days of confusion. Please, pray for the wisdom of God each day you wake up.
