EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
ATONEMENT
“Because on this day atonement will be made for you, to cleanse you. Then, before the Lord, you will be clean from all your sins.” (Leviticus 16:30 NIV)
The word “cleanse” in this verse jumped out to me.
We do all types of cleanses, juice cleanses, water cleanses, detox cleanses and even nasal cleanses and bowel cleanses, but how about a spiritual cleanse for our health?
The day of atonement, Yom Kippur, seemed to be the most important annual holiday for ancient Jews. It was the day the high priest entered the inner chamber of the tabernacle (later referred to as the temple) to offer a sacrifice for the sins of the whole nation. The purpose of this sacrifice? To make right between God and his people.
We are God’s people today. Because of the sacrifice of Jesus for our sins, every day is our day of atonement. Every day we accept that His death paid for our sins.  Every day we can ask forgiveness for what may have hurt God and know that our sins will be forgiven entirely, never to be remembered again.
In reality, sisters, how do we approach our God of the Galaxies? In prayer with excitement? Do we approach Him with values and the love He has given to us?
Do we hope that forgiveness is true and He’ll forgive if we ask? These are all questions we can ask ourselves.
We need to say TODAY IS OUR DAY OF ATONEMENT!
This is for our health and cleansing!! Can we each go to God with a heart of gratitude and thank Him that nothing stands between Him and us? My prayer for you today dear friends is that your health will benefit from atonement spoken in God’s Word of Life.
Remember Leviticus 16:30
