EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Gossip is a sin. Selfishness is a sin. Adultery is a sin. Premarital sex is a sin. Sin is sin, we can not minimize it. Sin is hard to avoid but the confession of your sin is critical.
When we allow sin to take root in our life and it goes unconfessed, we block our communication with God.
“Your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face from you so that He will not hear.” ( Isaiah 59:2)
This verse got my attention as I wandered in the wilderness, far from God. It made me tremble and had made a strong impact on my life years ago. How could I ask God for things when I was in need and He wasn’t even hearing me? According to this verse, my present unconfessed sin was blocking communication and response from Him. I needed to get rid of known sin in my life before I could move into the proper, praying relationship I so desperately needed with my Savior. ” For him who knows to do right and doesn’t do it, to him it is sin.” ( James 4:17)
Repentance took place in my heart. Repentance means to change your mind, turn and walk the other way. It is a 100° turn! Get out of temptation’s way. The need is to confess and turn from our sin. It doesn’t mean we will never sin again, it’s the intent of the heart and God sees and knows your intent. Why dabble around if you’re tempted in an area, get away from that temptation. I needed to confess mine and repent as many times as necessary to win the battle over the problem. My heart was right. It didn’t take me long with God’s help. I made things right, got out of a wrong situation, and followed after God’s heart.
God forgives EVERY time we confess. He also knows your heart and if you are truly trying to do better or just saying the words… don’t mess with God. If you’re sorry, mean it!
“Blessed is He whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. ( Psalm 32:1)
When you turn from your sin, say to God, “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” ( Psalm 51:10)… and He will.
You can turn things around in your life, just like I did. Say what you mean to God and don’t think for a minute that just “saying” the words get it done, mean it with ALL your heart. God knows the intent of the heart! I can not emphasize this enough… it’s what God looks at. “Man looks at the outward appearance, God looks at the heart.” (Proverbs 24:12, 1 Samuel 16:7)
Don’t let anything separate you from all God has for you!
