EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
I heard a beautiful woman of God speak with great encouragement to our leadership group and she had this saying she would repeat this throughout her uplifting message, “Girl, give yourself some grace.”
If we don’t see our trials as “training time for reigning time,” we will look for the quickest way out of the worst parts of our trial and thus find ourselves wandering in the wilderness instead of moving toward God’s promise for us.
God gives us grace when we need it most. He knows we aren’t perfect and we are hit with life’s trials often. How we wander through our trials is sometimes brutal to our being. Often times we punish and beat ourselves up mentally.
Other times our current obstacles, setbacks, and trials, seem totally unrelated to the call of God on our lives, so they are easy to misinterpret. And yet they are an important part of our maturing process. “Girl, give yourself some grace” is what comes to my mind as I write this devotion.
In fact, it’s easy to think, “I’d be living out my call if I didn’t have to deal with “this” issue.” But the thing is, whatever “this issue” is for me or for you, let’s view it as, “it’s our training ground, testing time and proving to ourselves that God may be  preparing us for a life of depth and significance.”
No matter how uncomfortable you may feel at the moment, what you may have messed upon, you must know that God is able to make all grace abound to you in this place.
(2 Corinthians 9:8)
“Girl, give yourself some grace.”
God has you and He has me, whatever the issue is!
