EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:

Have you ever stopped to think if others see you as a humble person?

How can we as Christians grow in humility?

That may just be up there with one of the most important questions we can ask ourselves as Christians.

Don’t look at this in any kind of pride-filled way, but humility is a characteristic that is foundational and sums up so many characteristics that we see in the Bible-and that’s what we should strive for. I include myself.

The fruit of the Spirit is defined in humility.

While we need to focus on Jesus’ example and what Paul has us focus on in Philippians 2, we need to model our lives, our minds, and our hearts after Christ.

I think humility is one of the most disregarded and forgotten characteristics in our day. We see proud-filled people at every turn.

The problem in talking about humility openly is that simply talking about it results in people thinking, “that’s not humble” but, I try to remember to regularly pray for humility. I pray to God to keep myself humble as I grow in knowledge and wisdom in Christ.

“…Don’t allow self-promotion to hide in your hearts, but in authentic humility put others first and view others as more important than yourselves.” (Philippians 2:3)

When we are in Christ, we need to be humble creations.

“Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
