VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
Why Pray?

If God already knows everything… why do we pray? It’s a question many of us have asked at some point.

“O Lord, you have searched me and known me… even before a word is on my tongue, you know it completely.” —Psalm 139:1–4 (ESV)

He knows our thoughts.
Our needs.
Our hearts.
And still… He invites us to pray. Because prayer is not about informing God. It is about connecting with Him.

“[Prayer] doesn’t change God. It changes me.” —C.S. Lewis

Prayer draws us closer. It aligns our hearts with His. It reminds us of our dependence on Him and His sufficiency in all things.

“You do not have, because you do not ask.” —James 4:2 (ESV)

Through prayer, we give thanks.
We seek strength.
We intercede for others.
We place our burdens before Him.

“The prayer of a righteous person has great power…” —James 5:16 (ESV)

Jesus Himself prayed. He modeled it. He prioritized it. And even now… He intercedes for us.So we come.
Not with perfect words.
Not with polished prayers.
But with open hearts.
Because prayer is where relationship is formed… And where transformation begins.
