EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
This 2-minute song was sent to me to brighten my day about a month ago. I cried. My heart melted to hear this precious child sing from her heart to Jesus. I quickly asked her mother to please write a post for this so that we could share both with you. Here it is! Be blessed.
Heart of a Child

Oh, to have the heart of a child.  My older daughter gave me this lyric once, “wish I were bare like the open sea”.  If she only knew she was reciting something most of us can relate to.  Life hurts, people let us down, dreams fail, and sometimes we even fail ourselves.  This can leave a soul feeling jaded and the heart hard. So, I find it no coincidence that these almost identical verses are placed in three different books:
And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 18:3(NIV)
“Truly I say to you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” Luke 18:17 (NIV) and Mark 10:15 (NIV)
These statements weren’t made by just anyone, they were the words of Jesus himself.  I think Jesus was really trying to express to us the deepest desire of the Father’s heart.  When the Bible repeats itself, it’s important!  God wants us to come to Him with our hearts fragile and exposed but sure of His strength and comforted by His presence.
This whole devotional came to be thru the heart of a child. I was working on a recording when my youngest came in to see me. “I want to sing mommy!” she exclaimed.  I set up the microphone and gave her the headphones.  I had no idea what she was going to sing, I assumed a kid’s song, but instead, she sang straight from her heart to Jesus.  It was a proud moment for me as her mom, but I can’t take credit for her heart, that is all the Lord.
As I replayed her song, I was amazed at how closely aligned it was with actual scripture.
• Tells God who she knows him to be, “the one who created nature”.
• States her love, thanks, and need for God.
• Reminds God of His good deeds and faithfulness, “lead us thru the mist always!”
• Let’s God know she sings for other reason than who He is, “just want to sing, because of you!”
• Ends the song with gratitude for the joy that worship gives her.  “Love to sing, always!”
I pray her heart always stays so open to the Holy Spirit.  I pray that His presence leaves her with an ever-increasing hunger for God’s word.  That she would crave spiritual milk.  1 Peter 2:2 Says this, “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.”  God’s desire is not for believers to stay childlike in thinking, but childlike in desire for the Word of God.  As a baby’s survival depends on its thirst for milk, so our salvation is sustained by our hunger to be in His presence.
What better reason to be a kid again than because the Lord asks you to?  I pray for myself as well as every believer, that we would be Christians who enter the presence of God fragile, hungry, and expecting to be satisfied.
