EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
(Deuteronomy 4:23-24)
“Be careful not to forget the covenant of the Lord your God that He made with you; do not make for yourselves an idol in the form of anything the Lord your God has forbidden. For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.”
Our God is a jealous God but not in the bad sense of the word. He is jealous of that which takes our attention away from Him.
There are things in this world that fight against the will of God; interests that attract our senses and intrigue us in spending time away from God. That’s not to say that they are sins but we just need to make sure that they are not cutting into our time with God. Don’t allow them to become more important so that they hinder seeking the Lord.
Anything that replaces your time with the Lord can become an idol and is unacceptable in the eyes of the Lord.
We need to prioritize God as the most important. In doing this we make Him a part of everything we say and do. We honor Him by giving Him our best.
Allow the Lord to consume your mind and give you more of an opportunity for others to experience His presence and goodness as well.
Those who see God living in and through us will become inspired to seek the goodness of God and give them the hope needed in finding an alternative way to meet their desires.
God is our ultimate provider and what He longs to do is accommodate us with what is best for us. He wants us to thrive in our belief that He can conquer all.
Thank you, Lord, that You have made all things possible by Your power and strength.
