Steps of Faith
“They replied, “We want to perform God’s works, too. What should we do?” Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.” (John 6:28-29)
Do you want good things to happen in your life? Do you want your marriage to be healthy? Do you want a spiritual awakening? Do you want your finances blessed? Do you want to live out fulfilling a dream you’ve had?
Sometimes you must first act out of commitment. Concrete it in your mind. Do something proactive. Put God first in all your needs – then go for it.
“..In the same way, faith by itself, if not accompanied by action, is dead. (James 2:17)
God honors us when we take steps of faith and include Him in it too. We should want Him with us and going before us.
God sees things that we do not. He knows what will happen even though we are reluctant to take the first step. He’s already there. But…He won’t go where He’s not welcome. Have you invited Him?
Action does not lead to faith. It’s the opposite. Faith leads us to action and stepping out to what is ahead when God is involved is so much easier than going it alone. When you see miracles happen before your eyes, it’s truly life-changing.
Give God the chance to work in your life with something that’s bewildering you. Let Him empower you with strength. Whether it be your relationship or something you’re afraid to do, whatever it is…take a step forward towards trying to do something positive with it. Trust God. Tell Him your desire and “ask” Him if it is His will. Always be willing to operate in “His will” for your life. Would you want it if it wasn’t? Think about it. ???
Then step out and try for what you want. If it does not work, you at least tried, but maybe God has other plans and it will work!
Do you want to change the world for Jesus? Follow Him. Following our Savior takes action on your part.
Take up your cross daily and follow Him. If you don’t step out in faith, you most likely won’t see any change. You never know how God is going to use the seed you sew for His glory. Steps of faith, how precious they are. I’ve taken them myself and my life has NEVER been the same since.
