EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
“What grieved them most was His statement that they would never see His face again.” (Acts 20:38)
Every day we live, someone faces having to let go somehow, someway. It’s never easy. Goodbyes are always difficult.
Whether it’s seeing your child off on their first day of school or it’s a “goodbye” to your children as they venture off to college or move away or saying “goodbye” to family and friends as you move to another state – the hardest of all is saying goodbye to loved ones that pass.
There’s always the question as to when we will see them again. Maybe you hold on to memories you’ve secured in the back of your mind and pray their images won’t fade with time. Maybe you pray that they are safely looked after by the Father who loves and protects them.
Distance takes time to adjust to and although the waiting can be trying, the anticipation of the reunion can be exhilarating. The yearning to have them close is constant. The desire to be a physical part of their lives is steady and a perpetual motion of segregated scenarios of memories that can still be made.
For some, memories are still a possibility, while for others, they are a timetable of repeated memories that keep their presence alive.
God is good in that throughout the different seasons, He is always there to help. God gives us the strength to cope and persevere as we cling to what reminds us of the specific moments we’ve been a part of it. God is good to us, and He understands your goodbye- no matter what form of it you are in. Look to God because He will never let you go. He is there for your hurting heart.
