EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Many of you may be waiting on God right now for answers to specific questions or needs. We want to know what He wants for us, but we can become impatient wanting answers right now. What do we do when He doesn’t answer us?
Many times we pray the prayer again, right? Sometimes we try to forget the need. One of the main reasons we should pray is to give thanks for what we often forget.
We need to remember all God HAS done for us. We tend to ask God for more things before thanking Him for what He’s already given us.
Deciding to be grateful through the tough times takes action. During times we are sad or in despair are the times we need to thank Him. In the good times, give Him thanks, and in the bad, give Him thanks.
The very act of thanking releases your mind from a negative focus. As you turn your attention to God, your problem fades in significance and loses its power to grip you and trip you up by dwelling on it.
By thanking God in the desperate moments, your joy will rise, and your mood will change because you realize you aren’t in control anyways, God is.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES; for this is the will of God in Christ Hesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
