VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
Praying Scripture

Our heavenly Father loves us more than we can fathom, and His Word is filled with promises for His children. Second Corinthians 1:20 reminds us that “no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ” (NIV). Because of Jesus—His perfect life, death, and resurrection—we can approach our Father knowing His promises belong to us.

Prayer doesn’t require special words. We can talk to God honestly and simply. But there are times when we don’t know what to pray, and that’s one reason praying Scripture can be so powerful. God’s Word gives us words when our own fail. It helps us ask for what God already desires for us and anchors His promises more deeply within our hearts.
When we personalize Scripture in prayer, we begin seeing ourselves through our Father’s eyes. His living and active Word exposes lies, renews our thinking, and reminds us of our true identity in Christ.

Romans 12 gives us a beautiful place to begin. We can pray: Father, help me see Your mercy more clearly. Teach me to offer my everyday life to You as worship. Keep me from conforming to the world and believing the lies of the culture around me. Transform me by renewing my mind.
And perhaps this is one of the most beautiful truths: the more we surrender ourselves to God, the more we become who He actually created us to be.

So open His Word and turn what you’re reading into conversation. Pray it over yourself. Pray it over your children, spouse, friends, and those God places on your heart.
His Word is truth.
His promises are sure.
And in Christ, we get to add our heartfelt Amen.
