VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
You Are Not Invisible
There have been times in my life when I felt unseen. As a teenager, I was unpopular. I felt like a nobody—alone, discouraged, and wondering whether anyone truly cared who I was. Then I became a follower of Jesus and discovered something in God’s Word that changed everything:
I am not invisible.
Proverbs 15:3 tells us, “The eyes of the LORD are everywhere” (NIV). God sees us. He sees our wounds, fears, desperation, loneliness, grief, and brokenness.
Hagar discovered this after fleeing into the desert. Mistreated and alone, she may have felt forgotten by everyone—but God found her there. She called Him El Roi: “the God who sees me” (Genesis 16:13, NIV).
God saw Ruth and Naomi after devastating loss and provided for them in ways that ultimately became part of the lineage of Jesus.
He saw Mary Magdalene in her brokenness, delivered her, and later met her at the empty tomb. In her grief, Jesus simply spoke her name.
And He has seen me too.
There was a season when I lost faith in God’s purpose for my life and became consumed by fear. I needed rescuing. Then I heard His gentle voice call my name: “YOU are Mine.”
The God who sees gave me new life. Maybe today you feel invisible. You’re not. God sees your heart. He hears your cries. He listens to your prayers.
And the same God who watched over Hagar, Ruth, Naomi, Mary Magdalene—and me—is watching over you. Deuteronomy 31:8 promises, “He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged” (NIV).
Call His name. Trust His sovereignty.
The God who sees is waiting for you.
