VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
God Is the Same Now and Forever
Living through Hurricane Ian left many people asking difficult questions. Why was one home destroyed while another remained untouched? Why did some lose everything while others were spared? In moments like these, life can seem painfully unfair.
Yet storms have a way of revealing where our hope truly rests.
So often, we place our confidence in things that feel secure—our homes, possessions, finances, or plans. But when those things are shaken, we are reminded that earthly security is temporary. The things we treasure today can disappear tomorrow.
Scripture reminds us, “Put [your] hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment” (1 Timothy 6:17).
When comforts are stripped away, we begin to see what matters most. We learn to appreciate simple blessings. We recognize the value of faith, family, community, and God’s presence in our lives.
Life is not always fair. Children quickly notice when someone has more than they do, and adults often wrestle with the same comparison. But contentment isn’t found in having more. It’s found in trusting God with what we have today.
Isaiah 40:31 says, “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.”
The storms of life may shake our circumstances, but they cannot wash away our faith. God remains our provider, comforter, protector, and friend. His character never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
True contentment comes when we stop looking backward at what we lost or forward at what we wish we had and instead embrace the gift of the present moment. Every breath, every relationship, and every opportunity to trust God is a blessing.
When everything else feels uncertain, we can rest in this truth: God is still faithful, and He always will be.
