VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
Slow Fade

When we look back over time, we often see how life is shaped—not by one defining moment—but by a series of small decisions.
Subtle shifts. Quiet compromises. Tiny choices that, on their own, seem insignificant… yet over time, create a path. Sometimes, that path leads us further than we ever intended to go.

“Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.” —James 4:17 (NLT)

What begins as harmless can slowly become entangling. A tolerance here. A passive agreement there. A desire to avoid conflict or simply fit in. And before we realize it, the slow fade has begun.
It’s not always obvious.
It doesn’t happen overnight.
But it happens.

“The guilty walk a crooked path; the innocent travel a straight road.” —Proverbs 21:8 (NLT)

The call is not to live in fear or condemnation—but in awareness.
To examine our hearts.
To remain anchored in truth.
To prioritize our relationship with God above all else.

“Since you are like lukewarm water… I will spit you out of my mouth.” —Revelation 3:16 (NLT)

There is an urgency in walking closely with Him. Not out of obligation—but out of love. Because when we stay near to Him, He reveals what we might otherwise miss.
And gently…
He brings us back.
