VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
A New Thing

Can we really move forward while staring into the rear-view mirror?

Many people attempt to do exactly that—holding tightly to the past while hoping for progress in the present. Yet the Word of God offers a different perspective.

“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of the old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:18–19, RSV)

Living in the past can easily become a holding pattern. Sometimes we cling to memories of what was lost, what should have been, or what once felt familiar. While there may be lessons to glean from yesterday, remaining there too long can cause us to miss what God is doing today.

The more we dwell on what used to be, the more we risk overlooking the new work God is bringing forth right in front of us.
God is always moving forward.
He is the God of the present and the future, not confined to the past. His plans are not limited by what has already happened. In fact, Scripture reminds us that He is able to do “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or imagine” (Ephesians 3:20).
But to step into what God is doing now, we must be willing to release what once was—even the ways we have seen Him work before. God often moves in fresh ways that require us to trust Him beyond our expectations.

Sons of the King are called to position themselves with gratitude and expectancy, ready to receive what God is birthing in this moment.
In the new work of God, there is strength. There is clarity of mind. There is restoration, joy, and peace.
God is doing a new thing—and it is springing forth now.
The question remains: do we perceive it?
