What is in your possession right now that will last forever? I pray that we all have God’s Word tucked into our hearts, and we need to invest in our lives. What do we invest? His Word!
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” (Matthew 25:35)
I pray we all would desire to invest time into that which will last a very long time, but studying God’s Word is where it’s at. It is an investment for eternity.
Did you ever think of evaluating your days and where you spend most of your time? When you do this, you are examining what you are basing your life on and what is going to last forever. Many think wealth and power are going to get them everything they desire while they are alive. But talk with people who have it and don’t know Jesus personally. Many are still miserable and left wanting more in their life, an empty void that’s not being satisfied. Unfortunately, money might get them as far as their last breath, but then what?
We all need to realize there is more to life than all the things that we want around us. Those “things” turn to moths and dust just as the Bible tells us.
“For we fix our attention, not on things that are seen, but on things that are unseen. What can be seen lasts only for a time, but what cannot be seen lasts forever.” (2 Corinthians 4:18)
The world wants us to live for today. And says that tomorrow doesn’t matter. Tomorrow does matter if you believe in heaven and hell. What we leave in the form of a legacy and value in people’s souls matters for eternity.
“The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” (1 John 2:17)
Let’s choose to build our life on God’s Word, which will stand forever, and all the values of God’s truth. Let’s invest into people’s lives with scripture that promises and delivers. It’s these that will remain eternally. They will last forever and never let us down.
