EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
How many times are we faced with evil and we don’t overcome it? Our bodies feel the anxious fear, and as it comes at us, we can get stifled and freeze. Overcoming it is the opposite of our human nature. When somebody hurts us, we want to recoil or maybe even try to hurt them back, right?
The Bible clearly tells us, “Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Romans 12:21) It is up to God to win the battles for us!
For me, I have to apply this lesson to my life continuously. My flesh wants to lash out when I am faced with evil. I usually and initially try to take care of things myself but I must always remember to stop and let God! Jesus came to obliterate evil! He came to wipe it out. He will do it for me, He will do it for you. God will take care of it.
“The Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.”(1 John 3:8) Remember this when you face opposition.
Good and evil are not equal in force or competition! I read that and I was so drawn by it.
In our moments of weakness, we may feel that evil is stronger and it is winning. But remember, this strong statement love is far stronger than evil! Also, kindness is far stronger than evil, so is goodness….in fact, remember all the fruits of the Spirit!
We will win as followers of God! Good will triumph over evil. God’s love lasts forever and ever.
Jesus said, ” I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.” (Matthew 16:18)
Does that give you assurance? It does me. God has your back, trust Him. Evil is going to lose… e v e r y s i n g l e t i m e!
