EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:

I met the sweetest young lady a few months ago. Her life is nothing short of broken. God led me to pour into her, assuring her that everything could be turned around for her and she could have a fresh outlook on life. How? If she would just train herself to walk with Jesus daily, she could trust Him that her life would dramatically change for the better.

” Seek his will and all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” ( Proverbs 3:6)

Walking with Jesus daily involves integrating solid faith into our daily life through prayer, Bible study, and service to Him, all while trusting in His guidance and seeking community. (The more this sweet girl plugged into a community of love and encouragement, the more God spoke to her about her own life.) True fact.

It’s about actively seeking to obey God’s teachings, loving others, and living in alignment with His will. Although this person was worried about being judged, as many often are facing new churches, new communities to be part of, I shared with her how we at WWL’s have all come from broken, sin-marred lives. The beauty is.. Jesus forgives each of us and wants us to grow closer to Him.

Starting our days with quiet time, praying and reading the Bible was the best information I could share with this young woman.

Recognizing and confessing sins as they are revealed, and seeking forgiveness over them and restoring our relationship with God is vital. By reflecting on scripture and God’s promises, I explained how He allows us to shape our thoughts and actions throughout the day.

It’s wonderful to see that this sweet young woman is taking a conscious effort to obey God’s word and His will, even when it’s challenging her through the process. I’ve been suggesting opportunities to serve others and reflect Jesus’s example of love and compassion when she does. It’s bringing her such joy.

My new friend is now mindful of her interactions with others, she says she strives to be kind, forgiving, and understanding herself where in her past, she was not.

By surrounding yourself with other believers who encourage and support a close relationship with Christ, it propels you forward with excitement that you are not alone. In being a mentor or accountability partner to her it has helped her to stay on track.

Any of us can do this. Trust in God’s sovereignty and love, even when you don’t understand His plans and help point others to a closer walk with Christ. Reflect on God’s promises and the hope He offers, especially during difficult times. You’ll be amazed at the joy God brings you as you help others. And be certain to be transparent with them that you walked through struggles too. This way they don’t feel so alone and shamed. Share with God about your thoughts, feelings, and struggles, He will carry them to where they need to be. You can cultivate a deeper and more meaningful walk with Jesus, grow in faith, love, and obedience, just by helping another do the same.
