EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
One day God is going to provide a new heaven and earth to live in, Rev. 21:1, can you imagine what that will be like? Oh, what a glorious day it will be. I often daydream of that day and what it looks like to me.
Before that day comes, we should be walking in a newness of life and abandon our old way of living. We need to follow God’s justice through the life-giving POWER of God’s grace as it builds up within the community of Christ. God’s grace does not want us to resort back to our old ways; He wants us to permanently choose to stay in the “new life” with Christ.
Although you may feel challenged at first in any new way of living, in Christ’s walk, the reign of grace in your life means that sinful inclinations may be “rendered powerless.” We are no longer slaves to sin! It doesn’t mean sin is wiped out of a life, but the power of sin in life with Jesus is broken forever.
We are living here on earth able to live freely! We are able to walk in freedom right now because of God’s grace. We can grow in holiness-sinning less and obeying God more, is that not amazing?
This way of living brings us into a “newness” of life that while we await the new heaven and earth we will one day experience. What a joy to know we can breathe, living a life of freedom in Christ.
“Sharing in his death by our baptism means that we were co-buried with him so that when the Father’s glory raised Christ from the dead, we were also raised with him. We have been co-resurrected with him so that we could be empowered to walk in the freshness of new life.” (Romans 6:4)
Until the day God will provide the new heaven and earth to live in, enjoy the newness of life through a newness in spirit as you mold yourself to be more and more like Jesus in every way. Thank God He is making you new each day!
