EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Let’s train ourselves to learn how to pray instead of fight! When we are in situations that cause our blood pressure to rise, we need to take a break and take it to God so He can win the battle.
I can get frustrated, and it still happens, but I’ve learned to shut down my actual anger when opposition comes at me. Going over the tipping point to rage is wrong. I realize the point at which I start to escalate-then operate in my fleshly antics of bad behavior, which is wrong. Because of self-control and taking it to God in the moment, I can now shut it down. I must not give the enemy any room for robbing my testimony of who I am in Christ. We need to know our breaking points for sin to enter and stay far away from them.
We must understand we have the ability to appropriate the power of God to fight the enemy that comes at us, causing us to want to fight or get angry. We can hear familiar lies when someone opposes us, and then it can feed us to escalated anger deep inside. It’s a trigger you must be aware of and vere from it whenever possible. When this anger peaks, it breaks, and it can become dangerous, and fights, anger, and sin can break out.
Our first steps are learning to deflate the anger and run to God in prayer. When we are so wrapped up in God and His love, we are liberated from what is escalating in front of us. You CAN stop it!
Do not add fuel to the fire during a heated moment. Stop and then begin to intercede for the other person that is threatening you or escalating you to a place you’re triggered. Pray for them in that moment, silently, in your heart. Yes, praying for them as well as covering your own self.
“You have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.” (Colossians 3:9-10)
God says our first steps are to be toward Him. Seek His face and put Him first. Learn how to do this! Avoid fighting. Avoid arguing and frustration leading to anger. When our self-image gets so wrapped up in God, we can deflate any fight or frustration that comes against us because we are “free.” We are liberated in Christ, ladies. It doesn’t matter who wants to pick a fight with us or pester us with what they say! Christian or non-Christian, turn away, turn toward our Lord, and turn it over to Him completely. Jesus will have the victory!
