EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Why is it that some people never seem to grow in their relationship with Lord? They go from one catastrophe to the next, never able to get beyond just trying to survive.
Can it be that they are lacking joy in their life?
Someone is robbing their joy for a reason! Or stealing the spiritual breakthroughs or even a deeper relationship with God! It is aggravating to see people confused and unable to find their beautiful purpose that God has for them. I was one of the people; it used to be me.
After time, prayer, finding Jesus, and walking with Him, I believe the answer lies in the word “surrender.” I was privileged to speak at a church for a women’s conference on the “how” a few years back. I shared that my life completely turned around when I “surrendered” fully to God. I put obedience to Christ as a top priority and put action into my repentive heart to change my thinking and my ways! I made Jesus Lord over my life. Not myself.
Surrendering everything to God means being willing to say, “Lord, whatever you want me to do, I’ll do it.” It’s not easy, either.
We need to die to ourselves and give up the things of the flesh that we love most. Things that keep us controlled for other purposes. Putting God first and submitting to His rulership will make ALL the difference in a life.
“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like.” ( Luke 6:46-47)
And
“Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Phil. 2:9-11)
