EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Taken from: Fuel For Life, by Kimberly Hobbs
Do you ever feel like you have no individual guidance because you’re busy helping everyone else? At this point, you need to stay where you are and ask God for His direction. Concentrate on doing things each day in the presence of God. Invite Him in.
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” ( Colossians 3:23)
There are times I can be so busy, and I wonder if what I do is making an impact for God. The enemy wants me to think “not.” Then there are those polar opposite days where I can feel it’s all too quiet around me, and I question that too. Instead of being bored by the lack of action, I seek God.
Seek God for yourself in quiet times and in busy times when you need strength. Although sometimes it’s easier to pray for others because their needs are defined, don’t disregard your own needs. Sometimes our requests can be numerous, complicated, or even hard to determine, but they need to be brought before our Lord.
We sometimes get so caught up in helping and praying for others that we often forget about ourselves. We each need personal prayers for the day-to-day existence of our lives. We get strengthened when we communicate to God, read His Word, and see  our faith grow. When we pray over our lives and see God answer, it’s a beautiful and very exciting thing.
Praying over our day and our health and asking God for wisdom are all so important. God wants our communication. He loves hearing from us. We all need prayer, everyone. We can be so emotionally involved in other people’s lives that we forget to pause and examine our own lives.
Do you ever feel as if your days are too busy and you don’t have time? Do you think you’re neglecting one or more areas of your life because you’re trying to fill numerous roles or meet expectations others place on you?
I believe we are all searching to fill a hunger for the Lord’s presence in our lives. We can deeply know God, we can serve Him better, and we can spend more time and pray to Him…but how?
Just ask Him.
Pray for yourself.
God wants us to long for His presence in our lives. He wants us to walk close to Him. He wants to increase our knowledge of what He says in His word.
Pray for yourself and the things on your heart. Without prayer, we struggle.
Please ask God to help you become a person with a  sincere, faith-filled prayer life. The Holy Spirit will teach you how to pray if you ask Him. He will help you with every aspect of your life. God will answer your prayers when you look to Him for everything.
Remember, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. (John 15:7)
Wow, what a verse we can close with. Thank you, God!
