EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:

Solitude, it’s very important. When is the last time you’ve been alone with Jesus for more than 5 minutes??? “Time alone” means different things to each of us.

“After he dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone” (Matthew 14:23)

Some of us have too little time alone to begin with, and we treasure times of quietness, while others who live alone have too much of it and may feel lonely and every bit of time too long for something more…

Jesus was often alone but never lonely because He spent time with God. His heart yearned to be with His Father. Do we have that same desire or yearning, constantly on our hearts?

If you find it difficult to make time for solitude, remember God is waiting. He wants your time without distraction. Your total undivided attention, and not just when you want something from Him. He is waiting for you, longing for your heart’s desire to want Him more and to actually plan to spend time with Him.

“The Lord God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, and he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17)

Whether you’re surrounded by noisy family in your day-to-day routine, or you live entirely isolated with not a word going on around you, take great joy in spending time alone with God when you can. When you have Him, you will have peace and never be “alone” or ” lonely” ever again.
