EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do and don’t get sidetracked worrying about others.
Often times in life we can be overcome with jealousy and envy over a person or group of people, and unfortunately it thwarts our movement to the things of God, it can be a “trip-up” in our steps. Jealousy of others blocks God’s plan for you.
But how do we get beyond these blocks to the blessings on our path? We kneel down before God, we ask Him for forgiveness with a repentive heart, and get to a grateful heart. Stop looking at other’s lives with fleshly eyes.
The Bible directs us always to look to the pure in heart to see God. (Matthew 5:8)
We must toss aside all pettiness and any surface hang-ups that we as women are quick to notice about each other, it hinders our walk. Jealousy and envy are a huge hang up between women and both negative emotions stop us from our enjoyment of serving God.
Look at God and also look at the Jesus in you. Ask God to open your spirit-eyes and get beyond the jealousy or envy of what may be holding you from embracing a thankful heart. Ask for heart that holds a true loving relationship with others that is wholesome.
I love the message translation in this scripture…
“Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Trust God and give Him the deep things you are dealing with when it comes to jealousy of any kind and envy as well. God will put to death the deeds of your flesh when you trust Him and ask for forgiveness.
By listening to Him and changing your heart posture to a thankful heart, your life will begin to move because God will move in it! He will get you beyond what’s in front of you and help you refuse the things you struggle with in your own skin and thoughts.
Be excited and expectant for the person you’re jealous of. Give the envy of certain people to God and ask Him to make that person or people a “God-size” difference in this world and mean it with prayer. 🙏
