EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Have you ever felt God’s gentle nudge? There is a distinct way that you can be taught how to discern his voice. Many of us look for the outward sound, and that was me many years ago. I wanted to hear His audible voice, but what I really needed to do all along was tap into the reality of God’s Holy Spirit within me.
As I learned how to discern the voice of the Holy Spirit, I began to feel the nudge, very gentle-like, in my thoughts. It came in the form of an idea and sometimes an image. At times, it was random and spontaneous. It never went contrary to God’s word. In fact, I’ve learned how it moves spontaneously with whatever I am reading.
Oftentimes, the nudge takes me out of my little box and into the impossible with God. My dreams and visions become bigger and bigger, the more my faith and trust grow. It will for you, too.
God’s nudges flow with compassion, love, and forgiveness. When He fills us with wisdom, it defies our own reasoning. I never realized how much wisdom God showered upon me until I began praying James 1:5 each day many years ago. Now it’s a part of my prayers each day.
“If any of us lack wisdom, let us ask God who gives generously to any of us who ask.” (James 1:5)
I want to encourage you that when you pay attention to the gentle nudges that rise inside of you, you open your day up to many miracles around you. The impossible situations seem to have solutions. Never dismiss random thoughts. Keep your eyes fixed upon God and His Word. Those thoughts are often breakthroughs waiting to happen for you.
“Pay careful attention to your hearts as you hear my teaching, for to those who have open hearts, even more revelation will be given to them until it overflows. And for those who do not listen with open hearts, what little light they imagine to have will be taken away.” (Luke 8:18)
