EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Prayer over our daily life is vital for our existence. This is how we should pray. An example from God’s word teaches us! Let’s break it apart together.
“This, then, is how you should pray: ‘ Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one’ (Matthew 6:9-13)
You just read what is called the Lord’s Prayer. It is so because Jesus taught His disciples to pray in this manner. He was laying out a pattern and when you study it, you’ll see there is meaning in each phrase.
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Your Name. It’s a declaration of praise. He is our Heavenly Father, acknowledge Him and praise Him first in your prayers!
Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We invite God when we pray, to manifest His power in the midst of earth’s sufferings and pain. He will move in response to your prayers!
Give us today your daily bread. This declares our dependence on God. He is your provider! Everything you need will come from Him.
Forgive Us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors. We are indebted to God because He forgives us, we must also forgive others in the same way He forgives us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. God doesn’t tempt us to do bad but we must understand we need divine deliverance through Jesus to be free and have power through Christ to battle the strategies of the evil one.
All that God is and all that God does lives forever. We serve a God that’s created the galaxies and His Word reminds us of that, please study this scripture and pray over it. Seek Its meaning in your own life.
FOR YOURS IS THE KINGDOM AND THE POWER AND THE GLORY FOREVER. Amen!
