EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
We live in times when some words have become difficult to accept, and the heart has a mind of its own. Submission, who talks about submission these days? No one wants to be forced to do something, anything!
When God resides in this word “submission,” the meaning of it becomes so much better. “Submit to yourself” a condition of the heart. Is God in your heart?
It’s means you take the control and release “your will” and submit it to “God’s will” for your life.
James 4:7 tells us a submitted heart will protect us to know where to draw the line. Is your heart submitted to God? When we look to scripture, we can be assured that there is promise and truth within. We give God authority to declare the wrong instead of screaming it out ourselves.
“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
With all respect and being transparent, in my past, the personal struggle with submission of the heart took me years to get in check. I can mess up, yes, but now the great news is that I have a Father in heaven who lovingly forgives me in that moment I say, “I’m so sorry, God, I messed up!”
Jesus and His love for others is my role model to follow now. He answered everyone with truth, love and perfect peace He carries in Who He is. Jesus Himself was submitted to the Father. We all need to embrace them, submit, and bow our knees humbly and say, “Yes, Lord.”
How I long to be like Jesus. It’s a daily submission of my own heart. It’s a submission if you are willing, of your own heart.
Please don’t allow yourself to go to places out of your control, not in your mind, body or spirit. Submit your heart to God and let Him handle the rough situations you encounter as you walk through life.
God will give you wisdom when you ask Him for it. He does not want you to be a doormat to people, nor does He want you to be a mindless robot of others’ expectations. Submit to God to lead you in every situation and give your heart.
He alone is worthy to control it.
