EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Be BRAVE!
Guest writer: Connie Van Horn – N.C.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 🦋
I’ve got this verse on repeat. It actually hangs in multiple places in my home. I need God’s constant encouragement and reassurance.
Joshua had it on repeat, too. He needed to hear God on repeat. We can be encouraged today that no matter the struggles or difficulties we are facing, God is there. God repeats to Joshua, “be strong and courageous,” so that Joshua wouldn’t try to live out God’s calling in his own strength.
Joshua was a new leader and was filled with fear, but God still chose Him. Joshua needed God’s words of encouragement to him. The message seems to be on repeat. Joshua is told to “be strong and courageous” four times… three times by God, and once by God’s people.
Three more times, Joshua is told that God is with him.
I don’t know about you, but I need to read this scripture on repeat. As I go through things with God in my own life, I need to be encouraged to be BRAVE and live with courage. I need to be reminded that God is with me wherever I go. I need to hear this message every day. God doesn’t call me to places without going with me and giving me the courage and strength I need to live out this calling.
Be BRAVE today. Live with lots of courage, knowing that God is with you wherever you go.
What scripture are you repeating today that you find yourself going back to often? I’d love to read them and pray with you over your verse
