EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Why is it that some people never seem to grow in relationship with the Lord? We watch their life with eager anticipation of a blossoming with Him, but somehow there is barely evidence or it slowly comes to fruition. Unfortunately in some, we may not see evidence of any Jesus in someone we have longed to see walk with Christ.
People seem to go from one catastrophe to the next, never able to get beyond just trying to survive. The sad point is they do it alone when they could be walking with the most powerful person ever, our Lord and Savior.
Why is it that people lack joy in their life not having a relationship with the Father? Doesn’t everyone desire it? Why do they lack spiritual breakthroughs or even a deeper communication with God is the question? I used to be one of those people. There are so many who just can not seem to find time for God or the beautiful purpose that He has waiting for them. It’s heartbreaking.
I believe the answer lies in the word “surrender”. I was privileged to speak on “how” to surrender at a women’s conference at a church in Northern Florida a couple of years ago. I had the joy of sharing how my life completely turned around when I honored the word and “surrendered” fully to God.
It was a blessing to have many women who were moved by the message and came to me afterward to talk about this in relation to their own lives. I saw the need to talk about it was strong. “Ah-ha” moments were surfacing!
When I put obedient action into my repentive heart many years ago,  I walked forward in faith, surrendering EVERYTHING to my God! It’s something I encourage everyone to do.
The word obedience is a “key” word. Making Jesus Lord over your life and no longer yourself, is something that requires making a choice. Surrender to the Savior is life-changing.
Surrender and surrendering “everything” means being willing to say “Lord, whatever you want me to do, I’ll do it.” I’m no longer my own or a slave to sin, I’m a child of God and free to live as one, and I needed to behave as one also.
We need to die to ourselves and give up the things of the flesh that once controlled us. Putting God first and submitting to His rulership will make ALL the difference in your life.
” Why do you call me, ‘Lord, ‘Lord,  And do not do what I say? I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice.”
(Luke 6:46-47)
“For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose.” ( Philippians 2:13)
Wow, can we all understand that it’s through “obedience” we will get to the closer and closer relationship we long for with our Lord? The  “surrender” will have God working in our lives for His greater purpose and that is something we can all shout an amen to.
If we can do this in our own lives, and not worry about others as much, it will happen for you and it will happen for anyone desiring to have a relationship with God. It’s a personal choice to surrender and commit to obedience. Pray for the others you love to have the same.
