EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Taken from: Fuel For Life, by Kimberly Hobbs
Pray for Yourself
Do you ever feel like you have no individual guidance because you’re busy helping everyone else? At this point, you need to stay where you are! Concentrate on doing things each day with the presence of God being with you.
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” ( Colossians 3:23)
There are times I wonder if anything I do is ever worth it. Then there are those days ( but not many lately)  Where I feel it’s all too quiet and nothing seems to be happening. Instead of being bored by the lack of action, seek God for yourself. Sometimes it’s easier to pray for others because our needs can be numerous, complicated, or even hard to determine. We are sometimes so caught up helping and praying for others that we forget about ourselves. We each need personal prayers for the day-to-day existence of ourselves, it’s true. We can be so emotionally involved in other people’s lives, we forget about our own.
Do you ever feel as if your days are too busy? Do you think you’re neglecting one or more areas of your life because you’re trying to fill numerous roles or meet expectations others place on you? I do.
I believe we are all searching to fill a hunger for the Lord’s presence in our lives. We can deeply know God, we can serve Him better, we can spend more time and prayer with Him.. but how?
Just ask Him.
Pray for yourself.
God wants us to long for His presence in our lives. He wants us to walk close to Him. He wants to increase our knowledge of what He says in His word.
Pray for yourself for these things. None of this can happen by itself without prayer. You must ask God to help you become a person of sincere, faith-filled prayer life. The Holy Spirit will teach you how to pray if you ask Him. He will help you with every aspect of your life. God will answer those prayers. Please, remember to pray for yourself! It’s OK.
Remember, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. (John 15:7)
Wow, what a verse we can close with. Thank you, God!
