EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE
Romans 8:28-30
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified, those He justified, He also glorified.”
Something terrible has happened, leaving a pain to follow because of the circumstance, and then your gut wrenches in spasms of unbelief and sorrow. You cry out to the Lord for answers, but you don’t hear any. Your first thought is to wonder, “Is God here?”
Nobody knows the reasons why horrible things happen to people who seem good, and we probably won’t know on this side of Heaven. Even Jesus questioned the Father, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?”
Jesus was sacrificed for our sins so that we could be blessed with the faith to trust in a God who gave all of Himself to give us everything. Through our trials, we can trust in God, who helps us to overcome, persevere and grow to be the perfect image of Himself.
As we mirror God’s perfect image and learn to live through our circumstances despite the pain and suffering we endure, we become witnesses to the struggle asking for guidance as we find our way with Jesus. You will become an instrument of saving grace to further God’s Kingdom as you grow. Therein lies your purpose.
