EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:

How many times do we dwell on our past and hear the enemy’s voice bringing up to our ears past hurts, past wounds, and definitely our past sins? I know with me, it’s a confidence crusher!

“I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions, for My own sake, and remembers your sins no more.” (Isaiah 44:25)

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:18-19)

The beauty of our God is that when we turn our eyes to the scriptures, we can take comfort in what God says to us and know that he will help us. I know that when I lacked confidence because of all I did in my past—things that did not honor God whatsoever—He made a way for me to use my mistakes to glorify Him.

How?

First of all, He gave me a vision to write, though I never even fathomed I’d be any kind of writer. But doing it for the glory of God, I became a godly writer for His purposes! God showed me how I could humbly share my mistakes of pain, hurt, and shame yet use those mistakes that had extremely valuable lessons inside for God. Even though they might have caused me some embarrassing moments because I’d need to reveal the consequences of sin, I still received tremendous blessings when others became able to stop making the same mistake and turn to God instead. This brings tremendous reward despite the voices telling me it will bring shame!

God has plans for each of us. They may not be my scenarios, but God has some just for you. Have you tried to look to the new things He has for you apart from your old self?

He is faithful to do what He started in you, even though it may not look like what you expected it to. Trust God because He is faithful and true to His promises. He formed you in your mother’s womb, and He will help you. You need not be afraid.
