EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
When we lay ourselves down to sleep at night what is the first thing we do? Some fall fast asleep with exhaustion while others are wrestling about their tomorrow.
If you’re like me you might play the next day’s events in your brain and go through all the “what ifs” that could possibly happen through the day you expect ahead of you and you make a plan to follow. While planning is good, it sometimes can cause more anxiety than it’s worth because plans don’t necessarily always work out the way we intend them to.
Instead of worrying about our tomorrow, we need to find rest in God. Our beds are for sleep and leaving our tomorrow’s in the sovereign hands of our capable God. Do your planning through the daytime so at night your thoughts can go to God and Him alone.
“Yes, my soul, find rest in God: my hope comes from Him. ( Psalm 62:5)
When you conclude your day and your time to rest is at hand, have the best night sleep and begin the practice of praying over your tomorrow and leaving it into God’s care. He’s already taking care of it anyway, isn’t He?
Allow your last thoughts and prayers to be surrendered thoughts into His care and let the last words you dwell on be His scripture and prayers to Him. Rest assured you will have His perfect peace over your sleep.
“Let us throw off everything that hinders.” (Hebrews 11:1)
