EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
God wants us to be right with others before we take our concerns, our “acts of service,” or our “gifts” to Him. He wants us to go first and be reconciled with others, and then come and offer Him our gifts.
“So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.”(Matthew 5:23-24)
All of us jeopardize our own prayers when we don’t pray them from a right heart. Please pay attention to this… what is in our hearts when we pray has more effect on whether our prayers are answered than the actual prayer itself!
That’s why when we come before God to pray, He wants us to first confess anything in our hearts that shouldn’t be there. He doesn’t want anything to separate us from Him. Do not harbor sin in your heart.
If you ever feel as if your prayers are not being heard, examine your heart and ask God to clearly reveal anything that you might need to confess before Him.
Try to do this every day when you pray. God will reveal to you what should not be there if you ask Him. 
When He does, confess it, then pray with open communication, nothing hindered, to your King. Watch and see what begins to happen in your life.
