EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE
God intends to use you greatly, and He created you with every detail for what He knew you needed. But many people simply put their special gifts from God out of their minds and instead want Him to do something for them instead.
We wait for Him to do what we want done many times only to give up on the “wait” and try doing it ourselves when it doesn’t happen. Sound familiar? Waiting is much more difficult than jumping and doing because it involves trusting God for what is best, His best for you personally.
If you are waiting on God, it requires patience, and patience is a rare virtue. Are you a patient person when it comes to things you want God to do? Sometimes, He has to protect us from ourselves. This is all too familiar to me. I don’t want to mess up anymore, so now I wait on Him, ask Him, and trust Him.
We enjoy knowing that God answers prayer, but what about when He builds hedges around His people when they lack patience? When we can look at the hedge or barrier from the aspect of protection, it does our bodies good. We don’t always see the block as a good thing, though. We want what we want, and we lack the patience to get it. But in reality, God knows best, no if’s or and’s or but’s about it. But we still push! We make our own choices, and at times, those decisions are not based on God’s Word.
When the hedge keeps growing higher and higher, we try to get over it by accomplishing things in our own strength. The desire to get over that hedge gets so strong that it becomes a challenge. Then when we can’t see over it, we panic because we want what we want so badly. Then…we make a wrong choice. We finally get over it and get our desires met! God gives us free will.
Will we ever get out of our desire to have things our own way?
God’s divine protection when we lack patience is BEST. Do not feel trapped. Feel protected. There is a reason for your delays, barriers, and hedges. They are God’s divine protection for what you do not know.
“The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe. (Prov. 18:10)
Trust His fortress of safety.
Sometimes, it’s hard for us to understand why we do not have the abilities in our own strength to get what we want. The desire to “have” becomes more and more difficult. It becomes hard for us to “brighten the corner where we are” because of our attitude of wanting and not getting. But God has a purpose in all of His delays.
God will protect His faithful ones. (1 Samuel 2:9) and remember:
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.”
“The Lord himself watches over you. The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night.” (Psalm 131:5-6)
God invests in you because He knows you. He knows what is best for your life. Every detail of it. So don’t push. He intends to use you greatly in His time and His way and then give you the desires of your heart when it’s right! You are a gift to this world from God. He loves you and wants to use you.
