OICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
Holding Pattern
Why are seasons of waiting so difficult?
Many of us feel forgotten when life places us in a holding pattern. We wonder if God sees us or if our prayers have gone unanswered.
But waiting often serves a purpose.
Think about airplanes waiting on a runway. Pilots may be ready to take off, yet they must wait for clearance from air traffic control. From the outside, it may seem unnecessary, but the controller sees the bigger picture and knows when the path is clear.
In the same way, God sees what we cannot.
Psalm 62:5–6 reminds us:
“Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation.”
Sometimes our waiting season is preparation. Other times, it is protection from stepping ahead of God’s timing.
What we perceive as rejection may actually be God’s protection.
Waiting allows our faith to grow stronger. As James 1:2–4 teaches, trials develop endurance, shaping us into people who trust God more deeply.
So if you find yourself in a holding pattern today, remember this: it is temporary.
God is clearing the path ahead.
And when the moment is right, He will guide you forward.
